Scheduling an outdoor shoot during spring in Michigan can feel a lot like playing the lottery: there's so much potential for greatness, and yet, how often did we find ourselves shivering in our sweatshirts this past April? When Kristina and I started making plans for this session back in December, we landed on Mother's Day weekend and hoped for the best. Clearly, we all hit the jackpot.
After months of waiting and praying for this little one's safe arrival, there was a huge crowd on hand at the airport to welcome Ron, Erin, and baby Sawyer home from South Korea. It looks like big brothers Greyson and Charlie are pretty smitten with Sawyer, and I'm reasonably sure that the feeling is mutual.
It's pretty amazing to see how much can change in eight months. Welcome home, Sawyer!
When Natalie (the creative genius who pressed life into my business cards) asked if I might be free for a quick little family shoot, I was pretty pumped. Getting to take a stroll through the woods is always a great way to kick off the weekend, but it's even better with a fun family along to photograph...truly, GOOD TIMES. (Sorry for the pun--I had to do it.)
I loved getting to spend Valentine's Day making googly-eyes at this little cutie. Simon was totally chill, and can we talk about all that personality? Honestly, I just can't even.
I don't cross paths with many babies that are only four days old, but getting to spend a morning with this sweetheart (and his big brother!) makes me wish that wasn't the case. It was an honor to capture some quiet moments at home with this beautiful family.
