I am at a loss for words trying to describe this beautiful day. Zach and Heather are so full of love, creativity, and hospitality; the entire celebration radiated with their joy and laughter. The Detroit Institute of Arts served as a magical setting for their vows, but the most beautiful treasure there was the love and mutual support between these two wonderful individuals and their family and friends. I still can't believe that I got to be a part of it. #merrilymartin for the win.
Elijah | One
I'm giving you fair warning that this post is a long one. I've been friends with Kim and Al for over ten years, all the way back to high school dinner theater. They moved up north a few years ago for a job, which is both terrible (since I only see them a few times a year) and pretty okay (since they let me come and stay with them for the best long weekends). Two became three last year with the birth of their son Elijah, who is the happiest little stinker I've ever had the joy of chasing around. I'm already looking forward to hanging out with this bunch again.

If things seem a little quiet around here, it might have something to do with the fact that I'm preparing to be a part of Arts & Eats this coming October! Early this spring, Christine Weber, the founder of and creative genius behind Hilltop Designs, encouraged me to apply to Arts & Eats and graciously volunteered to share her space with me should I get accepted. Fast forward a few months, and I'm excited to announce that I will be selling a variety of prints and paper goods during the tour!
Arts & Eats will take place October 17 and 18 from 10AM - 5PM. I'll be greeting customers at 1009 West Allegan Street in downtown Martin 109 128th Street in downtown Hopkins, which happens to be the new retail and shipping location for Hilltop Designs. You can take a peek at Hilltop's Etsy store to get a preview of the amazing soaps and personal care products that will be available for sale. As an extra bonus, the grand opening celebrations for this brand new store will coincide with Arts & Eats.
If there are any specific prints or products that you'd like to see me carry, send me an email or drop me a line through the contact form. October will be here in the blink of an eye, so be sure to save the date!
Baby Vera
Man oh man, this shoot could not have been any more fun. This sweet baby girl cracked herself up throughout the morning (which comes as no surprise considering how hilarious both her parents are). Vera's formidable baby strength also means that it can take three adults to clip in a single barrette, which is impressive for someone only six months old. Jared and Shari are amazing parents, and I am seriously smitten with the whole bunch.
Taylor + Brian
The rain held off, and we made some serious magic happen. These two were so sweet and kind and playful, and I'm excited to see where their love will take them.
